Composites Universal Group will build A350 tail cones

Contract comes via Airbus A350 XWB Tier 1 supplier Alestis Aerospace.

Composites Universal Group (Scappoose, Ore., USA) announced on April 27 that it has been awarded the contract to produce and deliver two all-composite auxiliary power unit (APU) compatibility test tail cone assemblies for the Airbus A350 XWB program.

Alestis Aerospace, an Airbus Tier 1 supplier, made the award earlier this month for the units used for testing of the APUs being supplied by Honeywell Aerospace. “We have accepted an aggressive delivery schedule in support of this program and appreciate the confidence in CUG that Alestis has shown by this decision,” says Chuck Harrison, VP at CUG.  “The contract will put to immediate use the newly installed and commissioned 40-ft Jensen curing oven which provides enhanced production capability.”
