The second annual CompositesWorld Investment Forum, Feb. 26-27, 2009, at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York, N.Y., is rapidly approaching and speakers and panelists are being finalized.
The CompositesWorld Investment Forum is the international conference designed for executives from leading
composite industry suppliers, industry analysts, investment bankers,
and industry end users to discuss opportunities for composite materials
in projected high-growth markets, such as commercial aircraft and
renewable energy applications, like wind blades.
More
than 100 marketing executives, business development specialists,
investment analysts and composite industry experts will explore the
global and regional outlook for composite materials in commercial
aviation, sporting goods, wind energy, construction and infrastructure,
CNG and hydrogen storage tanks and marine and automotive applications.
Discussions will focus on economic forces impacting these markets, such
as high energy costs and global warming, and how composite companies
can profit from these forces and increase market share over traditional
materials like steel, aluminum and concrete. Presentations will include
supply and demand forecasts and how investment in advanced automation
production processes are helping composite materials penetrate these
markets.
There are currently 17 speakers and panelists scheduled. The conference includes a panel discussion of the projected 2009 mergers and acquisitions landscape, featuring partners or managing partners from Hammond, Kennedy, Whitney & Co. Inc., Brookstone Partners, Vicente Capital Partners and Altus Capital Partners. The keynote speaker will be Andrew Moss, COO of Umeco plc, parent of carbon fiber prepreg manufacturer Advanced Composites Group. Moss will present, "A New Era for Advanced Composites," providing a market update, an out-of-autoclave materials development update and information on composites tooling.
