Composites Europe preparing for return to Stuttgart

COMPOSITES EUROPE will be Oct. 27-29 and again features the AVK technical conference, Oct. 26-27.

Three years ago, the COMPOSITES EUROPE specialist fair was launched in Germany. Within a short time it succeeded in developing into an significant growth factor for the composites industry and establishing itself as an industry institution. In Stuttgart, the specialist fair will present for the fourth time technologies and products covering the entire value creation chain of fiber-reinforced materials from Oct. 27 to 29.

COMPOSITES EUROPE will present innovative solutions for major sectors of application, such as the automotive sector, the aerospace industry as well as the building and construction sector – tailor-made to fit the current requirements on material properties, such as lightweight construction, energy efficiency or improved corrosion resistance.

About 350 international exhibitors are expected at COMPOSITES EUROPE 2009, among them key players of the industry such as Huntsman, AOC Resins and Exel Composites. DSM Composites Resins, Henkel and RAMPF Tooling will also be represented this year for the first time.

At the last event in Essen in 2008, COMPOSITES EUROPE recorded more than 8,000 visitors, coming equally from the composites industry and the application industries. From the application industries, every second visitor was from the automotive and vehicle construction sector, followed closely by the aerospace industry, building and construction and the wind power industry. The share of international visitors was also impressive: one in three visitors came to Essen from abroad.

Germany is the biggest player in the European composites market. As a consumer of fiber-reinforced plastics, Germany holds an undisputed first rank. In 2009 COMPOSITES EUROPE will again be held in the halls of the Neue Messe Stuttgart at the heart of one of the Europe’s most important high-tech regions.

Reed Exhibitions organises the trade fair in cooperation with the European industry association EuCIA and the specialist international journal Reinforced Plastics. From its very beginnings, COMPOSITES EUROPE has also had the support of AVK — Industrievereinigung Verstärkte Kunststoffe eV. The International AVK Convention with approximately 500 delegates will again mark the start of the fair, Oct. 26-27.
