Dan Pichler, managing director of Carb Consult GmbH has been added to the agenda for CompositesWorld's Carbon Fiber conference, Nov. 9-11 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
His presentation, titled "Consolidation and Maturing of the Carbon Fibre Industry: What is Happening? Who Will Survive?" will focus on the maturation of carbon fiber supply and demand and the long-term prospects for consolidation among suppliers.
In particular, Pichler will review with attendees current and anticipated carbon fiber supply in excess of demand — a sitution that he forecasts could continue through 2025, when supply could conceivably be almost twice the demand. He will then review what he considers the hallmarks of a successful carbon fiber manufacturer and what the mergers and acquisitions activity might be in this space given the excess supply situation.
