CompositesWorld, publisher of High-Performance Composites and Composites Technology magazines, has announced that the Carbon Fiber 2010 conference will be held Dec. 7-9, 2010, at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines Hotel, La Jolla, Calif., near San Diego.

The co-chairs for this year’s conference are Tom Haulik, carbon fiber sales manager of Hexcel (Dublin, Calif., USA), and Tom Lemire, western regional manager of Toho Tenax America (Rockwood, Tenn., USA). This international conference is designed for executives from leading fiber suppliers, end users, fiber converters, prepreggers and composites parts manufacturers to discuss the current supply and demand situation for carbon fiber as well as the future prospect for growth of new carbon fiber composite applications.

More than 140 marketing executives, business development specialists, technical directors and industry analysts attended the 2008 conference in Charleston, SC and last year’s event in San Diego, where they explored the regional outlook for traditional markets, such as aerospace, commercial aviation and sporting goods, as well as the growing demand from industrial markets for carbon fiber, such as wind energy, construction, CNG and hydrogen storage tanks, marine and automotive applications.

Conference presentations on Dec. 8-9 will cover market opportunities, new technology, and production processes to streamline manufacturing and lower costs.

In addition, there will be two preconference seminars on Dec. 7, focusing on the latest market developments and technology, as well as numerous networking opportunities at catered receptions, roundtable luncheons, and refreshment breaks.
