Spheretex (Hilden, Germany), a producer of laminate bulkers, specialty core and reinforcement materials to the composites industry, announced on July 9 the signing of an exclusive distribution agreement for the U.S. and Canada with Carbon-Core Corp. (Ruckersville, Va., USA) to represent the Spheretex product line in North America.
Under the terms of the agreement, Carbon-Core Corp. will also provide service, training and technical support for Spheretex North American customers. To ensure availability and reduce transit time, Spheretex America Inc. will relocate its warehousing operations from Florida to Virginia, from where, Spheretex says, 80 percent of the U.S. can be serviced within two days.
Siegfried Gerhards, CEO and president of Spheretex GmbH and Spheretex America Inc. stresses how important the North American market is to Spheretex: “We chose Carbon-Core Corp. for their extensive expertise in the core materials industry and for their ability to provide a broad range of products as well as technical and application support to their customers. Plus Carbon-Core Corp. is well known throughout North America for offering a competitive range of core materials. The Spheretex technical core material products are an ideal fit with the other core material Carbon-Core Corp. produces or distributes, such as structural plastic honeycomb, lightweight panels, PVC, PIR, PE foams.”
“This agreement with Spheretex represents a major commitment to our structural core materials business,” says Jack Lugus, managing director of Carbon-Core Corp. “We are now able to offer an even wider range of innovative products to our customers. Spheretex’ products for contact and closed molding have an excellent reputation all over the world.”
