Dust and fume collection equipment manufacturer Camfil Air Pollution Control (APC, Jonesboro, Ark.) celebrated on May 21 the grand opening of its new 40,000 ft2 (3,716m2) facility in the United Kingdom to serve industrial customers throughout the U.K. and Europe.
Camfil APC worked closely with the local Rochdale Development Agency to find the optimal site for the plant, which is located in the Birch Business Park in Heywood, Greater Manchester, U.K. The facility had been operational since April, with a staff, at grand opening, of 40. When fully staffed, the Heywood plant will employ, Camfil says, more than 100 people in engineering, manufacturing and support positions. The plant includes a four-bay welding area, a fabrication area, a powder paint line, an assembly area and storage space.
Company president Lee Morgan says, “Camfil APC has developed into a global dust collection company over the past five years, with our biggest growth in the U.K. and European industrial markets. This strategically located facility allows us to expand our manufacturing capacity and service our European customer base more effectively. Camfil APC makes dust collection equipment designed to clean up manufacturing processes and make plant environments safer and more productive.
