HITCO Carbon Composites Inc. (Los Angeles, Calif.), a subsidiary of SGL Group (Meitingen, Germany), announced on Nov. 2, 2007, the signing of a long-term contract to build plenum ducts for Pratt & Whitney (East Hartford, Conn.) jet engines that will used on The Boeing Co.’s (Chicago, Ill.) 747 wide-body airliner.
HITCO Carbon Composites Inc. (Los Angeles, Calif.), a subsidiary of SGL Group (Meitingen, Germany), announced on Nov. 2, 2007, the signing of a long-term contract to build plenum ducts for Pratt & Whitney (East Hartford, Conn.) jet engines that will used on The Boeing Co.’s (Chicago, Ill.) 747 wide-body airliner. This component comprises three main composite duct pieces that make up the engine cover. HITCO also reports that it will supply wing spoiler beams for the Boeing 747 wide body aircraft. The company reports that its recent investment in a state-of-the-art plant and equipment modernization will enable volume production of highly engineered products for this and other customers.
