Bell Helicopter (Ft. Worth, Texas), hosted a delegation from the Chilean Air Force (FACH) for a contract signing ceremony on Nov. 20, 2007, where Gen. Julio Escobar committed the FACH to purchase 12 Bell 412 4-axis helicopters (see photo, below). Gen. Escobar, head of the FACH, said that his group had evaluated several helicopters and felt the 412 will provide the capability to significantly increase mission coverage. The FACH currently has a fleet of 20 Bell helicopters, and the new 412s will be used in search-and-rescue operations and general troop transport.
