News website Northern Colorado Business Report on Sept. 17 reported that Bach Composite Industry (Hurup Thy, Denmark), a manufacturer of composite wind turbine components, will build its first North American facility in Fort Lupton, Colo., USA, just northeast of Vestas' new wind turbine facilities in Brighton and Windsor, Colo. The report says Bach's new facility will make composite products for wind energy customers such as Vestas Nacelles America Inc. The facility will be located in the former Colorado Railcar building and begin production in early 2010.

"We're very pleased to welcome Bach as the newest member of Colorado's New Energy Economy," Colorado Governor Bill Ritter said. "Bach's decision to locate its first North American manufacturing plant in Fort Lupton will create jobs, strengthen our economy and continue to lead us toward a quick and strong economic recovery."

The report says Bach CEO Geert Skovsgaard cited Colorado's business-friendly environment, skilled workforce and dedication to economic development as key factors in the company's decision to choose the state. "Our decision to locate in Fort Lupton is a direct result of the extraordinary attention and assistance we received from the Governor's economic team, which made it possible to acquire, entitle, renovate and occupy a vacant industrial building more quickly than I ever could have hoped," Skovsgaard said.
