Applied Composites Engineering (ACE, Indianapolis, Ind.) recently acquired FAA certification on its new anechoic (signal-absorbing) test chamber, which is large enough to accommodate radomes up to 9 ft/2.7m in diameter. ACE is initially targeting the testing of commercial X band radomes for commercial and business jet users as both a standalone service and a complement to its radome repair and overhaul capabilities. The move is the latest in ACE’s strategy to reduce turnaround time yet maintain full compliance with stringent FAA and OEM regulations.
