Amber Composites (Langley Mill, U.K.) and RAMPF Tooling (Grafenberg, Germany) have announced joint development of a series custom paste products for large composite parts. After more than a year of development and testing, RAMPF Tooling has released a new system of tooling paste that reportedly delivers significant reductions in time and cost for manufacturers of large production parts.

The system enables direct tool creation, completely bypassing plug production. The system was developed through collaboration with Amber Composites and select customers and has been used successfully to create very large tools by manufacturers of boat hulls and decks, as well as large components for use in the transportation industry. The paste, part of RAMPF Tooling’s RAKU-TOOL range, complements its line of epoxy and polyurethane close-contour pastes.
