AIP Aerospace completes acquisition of AREVA TA business unit

France-based AREVA TA's Aerospace Integration business offers turnkey solutions for the design, planning and implementation of assembly lines for major pieces of equipment for the aerospace industry.

AIP Aerospace (Macomb, MI, US) reported on Dec. 2 that it has completed the transfer of AREVA TA’s (Toulouse, France) Aerospace Integration business activity to AIP Aerospace Dec. 1. This operation concludes a process of information sharing and consultation with employee representatives of the concerned entities.

Established in 2002, AREVA TA's Aerospace Integration business offers innovative, turnkey solutions for the design, planning and the implementation of assembly lines for major pieces of equipment for the aerospace industry. It will become part of Ascent Aerospace’s Integration and Automation Group, and will be named Ascent Integration, SAS. Accordingly, Ascent Aerospace’s US-based Integration business will be renamed Ascent Integration LLC. The acquisition positions Ascent Aerospace as one of the largest global players in the growing aerospace factory and assembly line integration market.

Brian Williams, CEO of AIP Aerospace and its Ascent Aerospace business, says, “The acquisition of AREVA TA’s aerospace integration assets builds on Ascent Aerospace’s growing presence as a factory and assembly line integrator. It further provides our Ascent Integration and Automation Group with a European footprint, access to a new customer base, and AREVA’s proven program management and supply chain expertise. ”

Ascent Aerospace is a wholly owned unit of AIP Aerospace and is organized into two Groups: the Ascent Integration & Automation Group and the Ascent Tooling Group. The Ascent Integration & Automation Group (comprised of Ascent Integration, Brown Aerospace and Flow Aerospace) provides factory and assembly line integration services, as well as automated assembly and composite machining assets. The Ascent Tooling Group is comprised of Coast Composites, Odyssey Industries and Global Tooling Systems.
