AIC Group supplies autoclave control software to F1 team

U.K.-based AIC Group has installed its Autoclave Management and Control Systems (AMCS) software at the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team.

AIC Group (Poole, U.K.) reports that it has worked with the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team, based in Brackley, U.K., to install its latest Autoclave Management and Control Systems (AMCS). AIC has also completed servicing and calibrating the company’s autoclaves and ovens at its operations centre as part of a multi-year contract.

AIC has replaced the now obsolete Autoclave Manager with the new AMCS system, which is said to provide simpler operation across all of the team’s autoclaves and delivers higher reliability and reduced energy useage in the production of composite structures.

The total autoclave maintenance program covers: heating and cooling systems; vacuum pump; air circulation fan and motor; door operation and interlocks; controls and electrics; and pneumatics. Qualified engineers also calibrated control instruments for temperature, pressure and vacuum, with full traceability. Calibration equipment is calibrated and certified by AIC as a UKAS accredited company and is fully traceable to National Laboratory Standards.
