CompositesWorld, publisher of High-Performance Composites and Composites Technology magazines, has announced that the agenda has been set for the third CompositesWorld Investment Forum, March 15-16, 2010, at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines in La Jolla, Calif. The chair for this year’s conference is Michael S. Del Pero, Vice President — Plastics, Composites, & Advanced Materials — McGladrey Capital Markets LLC.

Companies confirming presentations to date include: Innegrity LLC, MAKE Consulting, GMC2 LLC, Imperium Inc., Innovative Composites Automation, Material Innovation Technologies, Lucintel, McGladrey Capital Markets LLC and VISTAGY.

Edward G. Carson, CEO of GMC2 LLC, will give a keynote address on March 15 entitled, "Integration of Market Forecasting with Manufacturing Producibility." Mr. Carson was previously executive vice president of Hitco Carbon Composites and a senior business manager at The Boeing Co.

Opening the conference on March 16 will be Norman Timmins, Lucintel’s director of consulting. Timmins' presentation will be, "Emerging Carbon Fiber and Glass Fiber Applications." "Carbon fiber and glass fiber represent markets with very different growth perspectives,” states Timmins. “In 2009 both materials were pressured by strong drops in demand with glass fiber in particular being hit hard by strong declines in base segments such as transportation, E&E, construction and marine. For both markets, now proves an interesting time to look beyond potential market rebounds, and seek to identify emerging future applications. This presentation will seek to evaluate drivers and potential challenges in the adoption of each material by showcasing high growth emerging applications within a dynamic marketplace.”

This international conference is designed for executives from leading composite industry suppliers, industry analysts, investment bankers, and industry end users to discuss challenges and opportunities for composite materials in markets such as commercial aircraft and renewable energy applications, like wind blades, including various strategies that companies in the composites industry may look to observe in light of today’s pressing economic challenges.

Concluding the conference on March 16 will be a panel made up of investment professionals discussing the latest M&A activity and the current investment climate for composites. Throughout the conference, attendees will enjoy numerous networking opportunities at catered receptions, roundtable luncheons, and refreshment breaks.
