Dr. Habib J. Dagher, principal investigator for the DeepCwind Consortium and director of AEWC Advanced Structures and Composites Center at the University of Maine (Orono, Maine, USA), will host two receptions at the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center (Atlantic City, N.J., USA) for industry leaders interested in deepwater floating offshore wind opportunities in the Gulf of Maine on Oct. 5 and 6. The receptions coincide with the North American Offshore Wind Conference.
On Oct. 5, a private dinner and presentation will focus on the Maine Public Utilities Commission’s (MPUC) Request for Proposals (RFP) to establish a 25-MW floating wind farm in the Gulf of Maine. On Oct. 6, a general reception will address the DeepCwind National Research Program, the construction of the Offshore Wind Laboratory at the Advanced Structures and Composites Center, and the MPUC RFP.
For more information about these events visit www.deepcwind.org/developers. The MPUC’s RFP may be found at www.maine.gov/mpuc/. The DeepCwind Consortium's mission is to establish the State of Maine as a national leader in deepwater offshore wind technology through a research initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.
