ACG will supply phenolic prepregs
to uparmor 151 Cougar vehicles for the United Kingdom.
Under an £81 million ($124.2 million USD) contract with the U.K.’s Ministry of Defence (MOD), Advanced Composites Group Ltd. (ACG, Heanor, Derbyshire, U.K.) will supply phenolic prepregs for a project intended to uparmor 151 Cougar HEV (hardened engineer vehicle) 4x4 models originally built and supplied to the MOD by U.S.-based Force Protection Inc. (Ladson, S.C.). NP Aerospace in the U.K. will transform the Cougar base vehicles into Ridgback configuration by upgrading their armor protection to better protect British soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq.
