After receiving a letter of intent from Donaldson Co., Cox & Co. (Plainview, NY, US) has selected Applied Composites Engineering (ACE, Indianapolis, IN, US) as its supplier for composite parts for the V-22 tiltrotor Phase II heated inlet components.
Because of the successful Phase I proof of concept non-heated inlets manufactured by ACE for Donaldson Co., ACE was deemed a suitable teammate for Cox & Co. for the Phase II heated inlet component project.
Cox & Company has repeatedly partnered with ACE for several large projects for more than five years, including heated inlets for the AgustaWestland ATAK 129 and the AW189. Nearly 200 composite components for proprietary heated inlets designed by Cox & Co. have been successfully delivered by ACE during this time.
