At the International Symposium on Composites Manufacturing (ISCM 2014, slated for May 14-15, 2014, at the National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR) in Marknesse, The Netherlands, recent developments in composites manufacturing for aerospace and related applications will be presented and discussed among experts in their field. Presentations at ISCM have historically involved analysis of emerging issues, the state of the art in composites manufacturing and discussion on those developments that will shape the near future of composites development.
Over the years, ISCM organizers say, the event has been the scene of a great deal of technological discussion and exchange of ideas. ISCM has a tradition in aerospace composites manufacturing, but is open to all that develop composite products for high-performance applications to present their achievements. Presentations of developments in nonaerospace-related, high-performance composites applications are, therefore, welcome at ISCM.
ISCM is a biennial event organized by the Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory NLR and the German Aerospace Center DLR, which alternate as the events' host.
Abstracts on the following topics can be submitted:
- Development of manufacturing techniques
- Automated manufacturing
- Material performance
- Cost reduction
- Novel design methods
- Innovative tooling concepts
- Process control
- Quality assurance
- Certification issues
Abstracts sholud be submitted to the organizing committee by e-mail, using the template on the ISCM Web site (iscm.nlr.nl), before Feb. 1, 2014. The e-mail should include the author(s)' name(s) and position(s), department name, company name and address, postal code, city, country, telephone number and e-mail address.
Speakers will be notified whether their abstract has been accepted for presentation before March 1, 2014.
It is not necessary to prepare printed papers, speakers will be asked to send a copy of their presentation in PPT or PDF format to the organizing committee before April 15, 2014. A copy of submitted presentations will be distributed in PDF format on CD-ROM or USB key at the beginning of the symposium.
The presentation should be mainly of a technical nature. ISCM welcomes presentations where authors share their experiences in the design, manufacture testing and evaluation of actual components or related activities. Presentations with a high commercial or advertising content will not be accepted. Submitters should limit the description of his/her company's activities and products to one sheet. Presentations will be reviewed before the symposium and if found to be of an advertising or commercial nature, they may be rejected at the discretion of the organizing committee. The decision of the organizing committee is final.
