Thermoset filament winding specialist Nim-Cor Inc. (Nashua, N.H.) offers custom fabricating services for carbon fiber tubes used in a variety of applications, including bridge mandrels, print-sleeve adaptors, anilox roll bases, airshafts, idler rolls and tension rollers. Products for printing applications also can include bearings and mounts designed to meet specific press requirements. Based on final application, every tube is wound according to a uniquely engineered winding, fiber and resin profile. According to the company, its highly controlled winding process ensures critical tube specifications, including strength, rigidity wall thickness and weight, the latter reduced by as much as 80 percent, compared to equivalent steel components. Tubes can be produced up to 18-ft/5.49m in length and 3 ft/0.91m in diameter in both round and custom (out-of-round or other) configurations.
