Resin flow additive

By Staff | February 2008

Axel Plastics Research Laboratories’ (Woodside, N.Y.) new MoldWiz additive, INT-41FPE, is designed to improve HDPE resin flow at low loading levels. The company’s internal developmental studies reportedly demonstrate that at 1 percent load level in a compound or molding mix, the product provides consistent improvement in the flow of HDPE at shear rates that range from 4,000 to 9,000, with corresponding viscosity reductions that range from 12.5 percent to 19.8 percent. A proprietary blend of modified polymers and organic fatty amides, the additive is available as a 100 percent active pellet or as a free-flowing powder. Evaluation for use in other olefinic materials is underway.
