LFRT pellets

By Staff | February 2008

PlastiComp LLC (Winona, Minn.) has introduced a line of long fiber-reinforced thermoplastic (LFRT) composite pellets under the Complet trademark. The product incorporates into one compounded pellet the total LFRT portfolio, including impact modifiers, additives and colorants. The material was developed to avoid problems introduced by traditional blending approaches, such as dry blending, which can lead to segregation of separately pelletized components during transport and conveying, causing molded part weight to vary by more than 5 percent. The company says it will work with customers to customize pellet composition and to shorten development cycles.
