Marine Brief: Ashland Distribution

PQ Marine Holdings Inc. (Holland, Mich.) was recently honored with a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) award for implementing a program with significant workplace benefits. The company, maker of PowerQuest brand powerboats, received the EPA’s Design for the Environment formulator initiative award for successfully implementing a program using U.S. Polychemical’s Acrastrip cleaning fluid, designed as a replacement for acetone used to remove cured and uncured polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy urethane and other polymer resins. Acrastrip cleaning fluid is available through Ashland Distribution, a division of Ashland Inc. (Dublin, Ohio). A program designed by Ashland helps customers achieve EPA recognition for their environmental stewardship efforts when they use Acrastrip cleaning fluid.
