Biz Briefs: Thermwood Inc.

Composites Universal Group (CUG, Scappoose, Ore.) has installed a five-axis computer numerically controlled (CNC) router, supplied by milling equipment manufacturer Thermwood Inc. (Dale, Ind.). The automated system cuts and shapes composite materials into components to tolerances within 0.001 inch/0.03 mm. CUG also reports that it will begin construction of a new 50,000-ft² (4,645m²) headquarters in 2008 and plans to consolidate its manufacturing operations there.
