After two years in the Southeast U.S., the Composites Fabricators Assn. (CFA) moves its annual convention and exhibition across the continent to the Anaheim Convention Center, in Anaheim, Calif., U.S.A. COMPOSITES 2003 is expected to attract as many 4,500 visitors during the three-day event (Oct. 1-3), as the Association explores the theme "Educate, Innovate, Shape the Future."
On the educational front, CFA's Best Practices Series is back for a second year, bringing in experts from world-class companies outside the composites industry to address a number of issues that are of concern to any business, regardless the industry.
CFA will honor some of the year's most innovative technologies in its annual Awards for Composites Excellence (ACE) Competition's Product Showcase pavilion. New this year, ACE Award competitors will be in the pavilion from noon to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, to meet and discuss their entries with show attendees.
CFA plans to help the industry top brass retool their companies' futures by extending an invitation to senior management, who will join corporate CEOs. The renamed CEO/Senior Management Forum is expected to broaden both the input and the knowledge base of the Forum, while extending that knowledge to a wider group of CEOs and CEOs-in-the-making.
Keynote Speaker Jamie Clarke, who after two failed attempts became the ninth Canadian to reach the summit of Mt. Everest, will speak on the importance of overcoming fear of rejection in becoming a supportive member of a team and reaching business goals.
Before you depart for Anaheim make sure you pack a copy of this issue, complete with a show floor map (below) and our convenient exhibitor locator directory (pp. 18-23; exhibitor list and booth locations are based on the best available information as of July 21, 2003). While you're there, stop by booth #1622 to meet the Composites Technology staff. For those who can't make the trek to California, CT will provide post-show coverage in our December issue - the next best thing to being there.
